When approvals live in chats and spreadsheets, the books catch up at month end
How Sturdy Bolt keeps each spending request, its approval and its payment as one record, with who owns what beside it, for teams that approve money in chats today.
The month-end problem
In a small team, spending is approved where the conversation happens: a message in a chat, a nod in a meeting, a line added to a spreadsheet. The payment goes out days later from a card or a bank account. At month end someone opens the statement and works backwards, matching charges to messages, asking who approved what, and guessing at the rest.
The cost is not the bookkeeping hour. It is that nobody can answer, at any moment, what the team has committed to spend and who said yes.
One record per request
Sturdy Bolt keeps each request, its approval and its payment as one record. A request names what is being bought, for how much and by whom; the approval is recorded on that same record by the person who owns the decision; the payment is matched to it when it happens. Who owns what sits beside the record, so a question about a charge has one place to be answered.
Nothing in this depends on the team changing how it talks. The request can still start in a chat; it ends as a record the books can read.
What the bookkeeper sees
At month end the books do not catch up; they are already current. Each charge on the statement has a request behind it, an approval with a name, and the owner of the budget it came from. What is left is the exception, which is the only thing a bookkeeper should have to spend time on.
Plans and the trial
Plans are sized by the number of people. The pricing page at https://sturdybolt.com/pricing lists each plan with what it includes and its price, read from the billing system, so the price shown there is the price billed; it also shows what a year paid at once costs. Every plan starts with a 14 day trial that begins when a card is added, so there is no second step when the trial ends.
Sturdy Bolt is operated by Global Vibing. It keeps its own accounts and its own data; an account here does not exist on any other Global Vibing platform.
Where to start
